"There are always lots of people around this neck of the woods with the Coin Laundry coffee shop nearby; but today not everybody was going there as 70 people turned up to see what Jeffrey Wilson could do with a good looking period shell in need of a smart architect or a bulldozer. Launching quickly into proceedings after a bit of slap stick, boom boom, comedy with his partner in crime Aidan Twomey; Jeffrey was faced with the question "will you vendor bid above $2,700,000". The question was deflected and bidding started at $2,600,000 and we went to the half time break at $2,740,000 with two bidders having gone up in $10,000's. "Not on the market" were the words upon Jeff's return and bidding proceeded with a third bidder until at $2,880,000 the "on the market" question was asked again and this time answered in the affirmative. Just as things look liked finishing a tick over $2,900,000 a fourth bidder chipped in from the back blocks and took the prize at $2,923,000. A solid auction, well run by Jeffrey and Aidan and a good result for both buyer and seller on this prime piece of Armadale land." (Mal James)

John Bongiorno (Marshall White); Under Hammer, $3,020,000 - 5 Bidders "Right on cue the clouds passed to bathe auctioneer John Bongiorno in sunshine, as he promptly opened proceedings with a vendor bid of $2,100,000. The crowd was initially slow to stir into action yet a genuine bid of $2,150,000 was presented. Four more bidders joined in to create an entertaining contest and put the property on the market at $2,900,000. The winning bidder almost made a costly slip of the tongue by announcing $3,200,000 instead of $3,020,000 yet Mr Bongiorno graciously accepted her mathematical error. Nevertheless, the number of bidders and the aggressive increments produced a strong result for this vendor." (Doug Paget)
