"Auctioneer Robin Parker came down the driveway right on 12.30pm and welcomed the crowd of over 40 who were enjoying the pleasant winter sunshine. He advised everyone they would all be able to enjoy even more sunshine - plus of course the fabulous view - if they were energetic enough to climb up the specially erected scaffolding in the rear garden! (Erected by the vendor to highlight the view that would be enjoyed if a council-approved replacement dwelling were to be considered).
With the preliminaries done with, Robin opened with a vendor bid of $1,100,000 to get things going. The first bid from a young family in the crowd was $1,125,000. A second bidder entered the field at $1,150,000 but bidding stalled at $1,270,000 and this fine property was passed in at this level. Bought after auction for an undisclosed amount." (David James)

James Paynter (Hodges); After Auction, $1,740,000 - 1 Bidders "A reasonable crowd of around 30 people lined the brick wall opposite James Paynter and Stephen Wigley, and were ready for action. James highlighted the many positives of the home and area and searched for an opening bid in the region of $1,600,000 to $1,700,000. Unable to find one, he chose to open on a vendor bid smack bang in the middle at $1,650,000. Still no action so a half time break was called. Upon his return, James offered a second vendor bid of $1,675,000 in the hope it would prompt some bidding action. He was rewarded with a solitary bid of $1,676,000 from a member of the crowd and the property was subsequently passed in to the lone bidder for negotiations. Bought after auction for $1,740,000." Peter Kennett (Hocking Stuart); Passed In: $1,350,000 - 0 Bidders "There was plenty of room in the front yard of this property, so it seemed like a pretty good place to hold an auction. Around 50 people gathered along the fences and on the driveway to watch as Peter Kennett took centre stage. Telling the crowd that the position didn't get much better than this, Peter searched for an opening bid. Unable to secure one, he kicked things off with a vendor bid of $1,320,000. Peter did his utmost (as usual) to encourage bidding from the crowd but it was to no avail. After a half time break, and no genuine bidding on the day, Peter was forced to pass the property in on a second vendor bid of $1,350,000." (Jen Milligan)
