BOUGHT* - $1,350,000

With the sun shining gloriously and the beach, park and railway station behind us, auctioneer Adrian Butera used these features as the catalyst to extract bids from the crowd. However, the only response he got were the birds chirping in the trees and the nice cool breeze from the sea. With this he put in a vendor bid of $1,300,000 which was met with more silence even though he had reduced his bidding increments to $25,000 rises. It looked like the auction was over until a bidder cheekily put in a bid of $1,310,000 which at first was rejected but challenged by the bidder and Mr Butera reluctantly accepted it. The auction was subsequently passed in to the lone bidder. The property was bought after for $1,350,000.
