As the wind started to strengthen, auctioneer Rob Vickers-Willis managed to retain his composure as his hair became a casualty to the weather. The medium-sized crowd benefited from the tight street as it allowed Mr Vickers- Willis to conduct the auction only a short distance away from everyone. The interaction between colleagues of Abercrombys was humorous and transformed what is often a very stressful event to something entertaining. Two bidders showed interest in the property, with the first offering an opening bid of $1,900,000. After nine further bids the property was passed in at $2,010,000.
