As the sun shone through the dark rain clouds, the crowd of 60 which formed a long line, stood quietly as they waited for proceedings to get underway. Auctioneer Anthony Grimwade in his preamble described the property as being in an “absolutely sensational location” as well as being a “stunning home.” Mr Grimwade suggested an opening bid of $1,000,000 and this request was met with an opening bid from the crowd at this figure. Despite Mr Grimwade’s best attempts to create a contest, there was no further bidding on the day and the property was passed in. The property was subsequently bought after auction for an undisclosed amount.
