Right on 11am - auction time - the heavens opened with a vengeance! A nearby rain gauge showed over 25mm in just a few minutes! Auctioneer Robert Leach, acting for Woodards, squeezed most of the 30+ crowd into the modest living room and got the usual preliminaries under way. An opening bid of $1,000,000 was soon forthcoming but then the action stalled. Mr Leach helped things along with two vendor bids but the two bidders were hesitant and the property was passed in to the higher bidder for $1,090,000.
