Auctioneer Michael Szulc explained to the crowd that Barrett Street was one of the quietest streets in the area. Combine location with a quality renovation and you have a  fine property on offer. No one was prepared to start the bidding and a vendor bid of $2,000,000 was made. Still no interest at this level and half time was called. After a lengthy half time the property was re- offered to the market with bids of $25,000 called for. No interest and the property was passed in on the single vendor bid of $2,000,000. There have been some recent sales in Barrett Street of similar properties for $2m plus - it will now be interesting to see at what level this property sells for.
