Right on cue the clouds passed to bathe auctioneer John Bongiorno in sunshine, as he promptly opened proceedings with a vendor bid of $2,100,000. The crowd was initially slow to stir into action yet a genuine bid of $2,150,000 was presented. Four more bidders joined in to create an entertaining contest and put the property on the market at $2,900,000. The winning bidder almost made a costly slip of the tongue by announcing $3,200,000 instead of $3,020,000 yet Mr Bongiorno graciously accepted her mathematical error. Nevertheless, the number of bidders and the aggressive increments produced a strong result for this vendor.
