PASSED IN - $1,220,000

Auctioneer Tim Fletcher held the gavel today, and a decent sized crowd gathered all round this corner block. Whether it was strategy or cold weather, it looked like it was going to be slow going from the onset. An opening vendor bid of $1,150,000 was upped by a bidder to $1,175,000, but here things crawled along. A rise of $5,000 was offered, and deemed too small 'I'm sorry, I will take it later though', suggested Mr Fletcher, and this raised a chuckle from the crowd. However, when no other bidders emerged, the modest rise was accepted. Two were in it now, slow deliberating each bid. The sun was getting ready to call it a day, when at $1,200,000 a third bidder emerged, 'Where have you been all this time?' asked Mr Fletcher. The property passing into the new bidder for $1,220,000.
