BOUGHT* - $1,650,500

This auction was fun to watch! A genuine bid of $1,500,000 got things underway and this encouraged two more parties to enter the fray. The price escalated to $1,640,000 at which point the BenMac Team sought instructions from the vendor. Upon recommencing the auction a bid of $1,650,000 was accepted and the property was declared on the market. Then a curve ball: the highest bidder asked to withdraw his bid! This was politely rejected by Mr Fraser-Smith and this prompted another party to offer $10 more. "I will take $500 more" was the answer and this was the final result. As the crowd dispersed there were chuckles to be heard and many heads shaken in disbelief.
