Auctioneer John Bongiorno started the auction of Arkle Street by mentioning that today’s clearance rates were looking good, and that affordable double fronted period homes tucked away in quiet streets were rare. John opened the auction with a vendor bid of $1,250,000 – at this level two bidders saw value and the bidding quickly reached $1,420,000 before half time was called. After half time the property was re-offered to the market and despite John complimenting one of the bidders on their head attire, not other bids were made and the property was passed in.
