The sun gave everyone a welcome reprieve and allowed for an outdoor auction - just as well, as a healthy crowd of 70 were in attendance. Auctioneer James Tostevin mentioned that he had some history with the property having sold it 10 years earlier. A vendor bid of $1,700,000 was penciled in, and interested parties now made Mr Tostevin hold out, as his search for a bid went wanting. A half time break was taken, the auction got rebooted and an offer of $1,720,000 finally emerged from the crowd. Another party now jumped in adding $10,000, and these two bidders moved quickly through the sevens, and eights. Bidding comfortably reached $1,860,000 and then froze, as abruptly as it had commenced. The property passed in for further negotiations. Bought after auction.
