38 Carroll Street, NORTH MELBOURNE
PASSED IN - $1,250,000
Auctioneer Stephen Whitelaw of Collins Simms urged the crowd to get involved as Carroll Street was one of North Melbourne's premier streets and it wasn't too often that double fronters were offered to the market here.
Stephen's words seemed to work as an opening bid of $900,000 was made, and whilst a little lower than Stephen would have liked, it was accepted. No further crowd bids were made after this so a vendor bid of $1,000,000 was made. At this point, two other bidders joined in and the bidding reached $1,125,000 before half time was called. After a long half time break, a further five bids were forthcoming but the property was passed in at $1,250,000.
