Despite his words it seemed hard to extract an opening bid with one eventually coming from the crowd at $2,400,000. There were then some vendor bids and further bids from the initial bidder until a second bidder joined in and it was announced on the market at $2,700,000. It eventually sold under the hammer for over $2,700,000.
