Around 100 attended the Camberwell auction in Rowell Street where they saw master auctioneer Glen Coutinho do what he does best. An opening bid of $1,950,000 was announced after Mr Coutinho left it to the crowd to kick off proceedings. A relatively slow start to the auction turned into a fierce bidding war between two very interested parties. The bidding continued past $2,000,000 to 2.1, to 2.2, and finally coming to a head at $2,234,000 at which point the property was bought. A strong, energetic crowd watched in anticipation as the 2 parties battled between each other and applause was heard for the winners as the hammer came down.
