An energetic crowd of around 80 people were on hand to see Auctioneer Damien Davis sell this Camberwell home under the brilliant Melbourne sunshine. An opening bid was announced from the crowd for 900 thousand dollars, which quickly moved to 920, to 930 and peaked at $1,090,000. Mr Davis then went inside to consult with the vendor and returned announcing that the property was not yet on the market. The bidding then picked up again, albeit momentarily, reaching $1,150,000 at which point Mr Davis sold the property. There was some controversy surrounding the final bid, as one party argued that they had made a legitimate bid before the hammer came down which was ignored. The result stood and the party who had the last recorded bid of $1,150,000 bought the property.
