The crowd was spaced out with plenty of shade to choose from in Royal Crescent today. Andrew Gibbons commence the auction and what a ride we were all in for. Mr Gibbons opened with a vendor bid of $2,500,000 and was not left waiting very long for Bidder 1 to offer the requested rise of $25,000. Bidder 2 followed shortly after with the same. A couple of bids later saw Bidder 3 join in at $2,610,000 followed closely by Bidder 4 at $2,640,000 when everything stalled and a break was taken. Upon return a battle erupted between Bidders 3 and 4 which gave those in the middle whip lash from twisting their necks back and forward in a barrage of bids which I wish I had counted. Mostly rising in $4,000 and $1,000 increments Mr Gibbons joked that $10,000 could be a better option. We quickly passed $2,700,000 and $2,800,000 when Mr Gibbons was able to advise that we were on the market. After $2,900,000, $3,000,000 and $3,100,000 were passed both Bidders were consulting with their parties and neither were looking to back down. Just like a long volley session at a tennis match the crowd held their breath until Bidder 3 paused and Bidder 4 tasted victory. Back and forth for one last try Bidder 3 accepted they had done all they could and Bidder 4 claimed victory and the property in front of a well entertained crowd.
