Well, this auction was certainly a surprise - very slow to get started and for a moment there it looked set to pass in. Bidding was opened at $2,800,000, and this was followed by a vendor bid of $2,900,000 - and then no bids. The auctioneer Alastair Craig went in to meet with the vendors and everything seemed quiet. After the half time break bidding resumed another bidder joined the race, bidding moved slowly up until the reserve of $3,250,000. The property was then declared on the market, and another bidder joined the race. The price exploded and within a matter of moments reached $3,730,000. Three bidders in total and a strong result for the vendors.
