BOUGHT* - $3,560,000

A vibrant, well-conducted auction here for a modern family home at 23 Ferncroft Avenue in Malvern East. Conducted on the rear tennis court, RT Edgar's Jeremy Fox was hoping for bidders and not tennis players and he got them at this auction - five in fact. Opening with a vendor bid of $3,100,000 this auction got under-way quite quickly with two young families going toe-to-toe in $10,000 increments. At the half-time break bidding reached $3,170,000. When the RT Edgar team returned to the court bidding continued with another two bidders joining in. Bidding reached $3,260,000 and the vendor was consulted again. Upon his return, Mr Fox claimed the property was close to being on the market and he was true to his word as it was announced on the market at $3,300,000. From here another bidder joined in and the property sold under the hammer for $3,560,000. A well-run campaign capped off with a great auction here for the RT Edgar team.
