This auction was held inside, showcasing an impressive, constantly-moving canvas - ie the breathtaking view of Elwood Beach. Thirty or so people squeezed into the living area as auctioneer Torsten Kasper, with the perfect backdrop, got things rolling..or attempted to. The intimate setting might have intimidated the crowd leaving Mr Kasper to open the auction with a vendor bid of $1,480,000 followed by another of $1,500,000. Once the silence had been dragged out beyond the possible, one bidder piped up and the property passed in on his bid of $1,520,000. Bought after for $1,575,000.
