The auction commenced with a crowd bid of $1,000,000 followed by a vendor bid of $1,025,000. The sole bidder gave what proved to be his last bid of $1,050,000. Despite a commanding presence, Mr Kingston was unable to obtain any further bids from the reserved crowd and the property was passed in at $1,050,000. Bought after for $1,200,000.
