With land as rare as hens teeth in Hawthorn East, an expected bidding war of three ensued after beginning opened at $950,000. Auctioneer Paul Walker had to negotiate not only through bidders but also traffic as he walked up and down this busy street looking for bids. This piece of land eventually bought by the highest bidder for $1,860,000.
