BOUGHT* - $1,350,000

With the clouds clearing, auctioneer Justin Long decided to hold proceedings in the courtyard of this Toorak property. Leaving it to the crowd to begin the auction, Mr Long waited patiently, enduring several moments of silence before announcing a vendor bid of $1,000,000. From there, the auction heated up, with two bidders going back and forth in an old fashion bidding war until the figure reached $1,335,000. Both parties seemed worn out by the time that figure was reached and then a new bidder announced himself, bidding $1,350,000. That bid silenced the crowd again, and the property was sold to that gentleman at that price. The atmosphere was strong in the crowd of around 40 people. There were three parties bidding for the property on the day.
