80 Moubray Street, ALBERT PARK
BOUGHT* - $950,000
He said they call him "The Closer'', and Karl Gillon was not going to go home without selling 80 Moubray St today. And, true to his word, Mr Gillon brought the hammer down with a thud at $950,000 after a very entertaining auction that included three bidders from a crowd of around 50. The opening bid of $850,000 almost went unnoticed - someone told Mr Gillon that a man had offered a bid from his car. Mr Gillon politely asked the gentleman in question if he could please get out of the car as he didn't think he could conduct an auction if he couldn't see the bidder! This auction definitely had it all - three keen bidders, increments of $500, $1000 and $5000 and an appreciative crowd who applauded when the hammer came down. Mr Gillon said he liked to close and he did. A great auction.
