Auctioneer Doug McLauchlan gave his usual polished performance in taking bids, from an opening of $2,200,000. With two strong bidders amongst the crowd of 50 there was an element of surprise when, after a long half time break, the property was not put on the market at $2,525,000, but instead passed in to the highest bidder -the reserve is believed to be well above that, so still some work to be done.
