It was a very different home yielding a very different auction result to 39 Denham St, bought just a few weeks prior. Auctioneer Simon Byrne did have two bidders from the crowd of 55, one of which opened the auction at $950,000. The auction then stalled, forcing Mr Byrne to seek instructions from his vendor. The property could not be bought at this price and a second bidder joined in, raising the stakes to $1,010,000. Once again the bids halted and Mr Byrne consulted with his vendors for a second time, after which he announced the property on the market. It was bought under the hammer for $1,030,000, a result well within the quoted range of $1,000,000 to $1,100,000.
