2 Crest Avenue, BALWYN
BOUGHT* RANGE - $2,570,600 - $2,827,928
Auctioneer Doug McLauchlan held the auction inside this uniquely designed, award winning home in Balwyn on this very rainy day in Melbourne. Mr McLauchlan waited patiently for 3 or 4 minutes for an opening bid to come from the crowd before reluctantly announcing a vendor bid of $2,600,000. There were 50 plus people crammed inside the family room of the Crest Avenue home who all seemed to be there to observe rather than participate. After several minutes of cajoling by Mr McLauchlan, a gentleman in the crowd offered a bid for $2,602,000. Mr McLauchlan was looking for increments of $50,000, so he was somewhat disappointed when that bid was made. He negotiated with the man to bring it up to at least $10,000, which he reluctantly agreed to. That was the one and only bid for the property on the day, and it was subsequently passed in for $2,610,000. There was a fairly quiet and disgruntled atmosphere in the crowd, possibly due to the fact that onlookers were forced to part with their shoes at the front door.Bought after for an undisclosed amount.

BOUGHT* - Indicates property has been bought. We are a buyer rating company and a buyer advocate company only, and we use the word bought instead of sold to give the website a buyer flavour. We do not buy all the properties listed on this website, therefore we often rely on an advertised price or the selling agent to indicate the bought price and occasionally the result may be inaccurate.
