48 Melville Street, HAWTHORN
BOUGHT* - $1,605,000
There was definitely going to be interest in this fine Hawthorn property but the Jellis Craig team still had to work very hard for the result. Even before the auction had commenced, Alistair Craig was handing out brochures to the 80 spectators. Auctioneer Maurice Di Marzio commenced with a vendor bid of $1,400,000 and the bids were initially slow to come. When it seemed that the property was going to be passed in to a single bidder at $1,475,000, another emerged, resulting in a marathon bidding war between the two determined parties. Bidding was an interesting combination of cautious smaller increments interspersed with a few knock out bids until the property was finally bought for $1,605,000. Good bidding by the underbidder and well done to the Jellis Craig team.

BOUGHT* - Indicates property has been bought. We are a buyer rating company and a buyer advocate company only, and we use the word bought instead of sold to give the website a buyer flavour. We do not buy all the properties listed on this website, therefore we often rely on an advertised price or the selling agent to indicate the bought price and occasionally the result may be inaccurate.
