Boroondara – Weekly | Archives

Patchy results yesterday, with most auctions either passing in or had limited bidding. It certainly seems to be a testing time for selling agents and, for buyers, there seem to be many options. Of the eight auctions we attended, five sold on the day yesterday. I did note that a few properties that have been [...]

A quieter (and wetter!) day in the Boroondara $1m+ auction streets today. Pass-ins (and waiting around) seemed to be the order of the day, and one needed to have an umbrella handy.
Solid results were -
19 Florence Avenue, Kew (Diana Healy, Jellis Craig) – selling over $3.6m. This was a quality new home in good location [...]

A great day weather–wise and, if you were a vendor selling yesterday in Boroondara, chances are you would enjoy your Sunday morning coffee just a little bit more. Of the 10 auctions we monitored, seven sold yesterday, one sold before and two passed in. These properties were not located on main roads and overall the [...]

Not too much to report on the weekend’s results: it was quiet. This is expected, as the weekend after Melbourne Cup is never ideal for an auction campaign. Yes the clearance rate was down a little this weekend, but in the next few weeks we should get a better handle on things. I attended three [...]

Not the best auction day in Boroondara today – of the 12 we are at only 6 sold. While there were two standout five bidder auctions in Balwyn (25 Campbell Street – Peter Mitchell, Marshall White – sold for $3,000,000) & 113 Yarrbat Avenue – Hamish Tostevin, Marshall White – sold for $1,992,500) other results [...]

A solid weekend with some solid results. Of the eight auctions we reviewed today, six sold under the hammer, two were passed in (yet had bidders) and one sold before.
No football in Melbourne and not too many auctions (compared to a similar date in recent years) probably explains why we saw very good numbers of [...]

It was a little tougher today, as our headline reflects, but this is largely due to the stock on offering. No real beauties today (although I did really like 6 Pine Street Hawthorn (Scott Patterson, Kay and Burton), even though it did have a south-facing rear). Always felt $1.8m-ish to me and that’s what it [...]

Adam’s Week: This week in Boroondara it seems we move back into a balanced market. Further to the note above (covering 8 auctions, 7 selling) another result of interest is 12 Creswick in Balwyn (William Chen, Jellis Craig), which has been on the market for some time (it passed in earlier this year at auction [...]
