"This was always going to be an interesting auction, and I was looking forward to it. The property is quite a good one - north facing rear, on good land size within close proximity to Camberwell Junction. Fortunately the rained stayed away and Michael Hingston (backed up by Steven Abbott) did a job directing traffic in front of around 70 people - and you could sense there were a buzz here. Opening on a vendor bid of $1,350,000 it did not take too long for the crowd to get involved and two bidders fought things out in $10,000 increments to see the property on the market at $1,460,000 - a good reserve I thought. Bidder 3 entered the fray and all of sudden this auction was off and running. At $1,600,000 the auction seemed like it was coming to end yet two bidders (one on the phone, that often looked out of the running a number of times and in the end finally ran out of patience and/or money - how often do we see that?) went tit-for-tat and the auction finished at $1,665,000. Good result for the vendor here and a professionally run campaign by Michael Hingston." (Adam Woledge)

"After a brief introduction from auctioneer Richard Earle, the auction was underway with Mr Earle looking for an opening bid. Despite Mr Earle’s efforts a vendor bid was place at $2,250,000, asking to rises of $25,000 the crowd stood silent, another vendor bid was place at $2,275,000 shortly followed by another at $2,300,000. With no participation from the crowd Mr Earle called half time. After a quick break the property was then passed in at $2,300,000. The property sold after auction for $2,730,000." (Sonia Matmati)

In front of around 50 people (huddling under the carport and under various umbrellas to avoid the fleeting rain), auctioneer Richard Earle gave his usual concise yet informative brief of the property and looked for an opening bid to which there were none. A vendor bid of $2,600,000 was placed and that is where the auction concluded with no crowd bidding. Would expect this to sell soon - the street is a very good one and the home has many good attributes." (Adam Woledge)
