I wish I looked this good at nearly 40 years old! Built in 1988, this Wayne Gillespie home has clearly had a little attention over the years, but his designs are almost ageless.
The floorplan, proportions, finishes and flow are timeless. Another architect could use exactly the same dimensions, yet somehow the result never quite feels like a Gillespie home.
Brutalist, modernist and sitting on 916 square metres with a north-facing rear. It makes you feel incredibly good inside. Spacious, beautifully proportioned, with generous bedrooms upstairs.
A couple of weaknesses. The garage is narrow, and I don’t think the street presentation does the house justice. You really need to get inside to appreciate it.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I absolutely love the feeling of a Gillespie home. This one deserves a very strong rating.
