This is a little bit weird, but good weird. And that is probably why it works. South side, sits down a little, rear parking is compromised and there are some level changes. Normally, I could find enough here to talk myself out of it.
But the architecture is interesting. It is clearly an expression of the owners, and there is plenty going on. Big boulders, strong colour panels and some fairly confronting choices. Some buyers will find it all a bit harsh.
What I do appreciate is that the owners, builder and architect have not lost sight of the fact that this still needs to work as a home. The floorplan flows, the spaces function and it hasn’t become some architectural experiment that only the architect could love.
Different, certainly. A little unusual, absolutely. But there has been thought behind it, and that counts for something.
